Cristiano Ronaldo , Mario Balotelli and Iker Casillas where selected in the worst Starting XI at the World Cup

The Portuguese team , led by Ronaldo , left the Wold Cup early in the first round, while Balotelli had to face the Italian public criticism after a disappointing exit in the group D which was led by Costa Rica, the Spanish team was the biggest disappointments at the World Cup, the title holders where out after two matches only. While Steven Gerard mistakes in Uruguayan match caused his team two goals.

The Brazilian Globo Sport newspaper chose the worst starting 11 in the World Cup , which included players who disappointed their fans, which included:
