8 Manchester City players will not participate vs Arsenal in the community shield

Manuel Pellegrini announced that eight of his player will miss the community shield match

Manchester City to miss on Sunday eight of their player in the Community Shield match vs Arsenal at the Wembley Stadium , which launches the start of the new season.

Manchester City coach confirmed in a press conference that the team's captain Vincent Kompany , Pablo Zabaleta , Fernandinho , Sergio Aguero , Martin Demichelis ,Bacary Sagna and Frank Lampard will not be called for the match as they had joined the team's training this week.

Pellegrini ruled out the Spanish striker Alvaro Negredo due to his injury , and Frank Lampard since he is "not ready to play" according to the Chiliean coach

Manuel confirmed that "the players who joined the training last Monday due to their World Cup vacation will not participate in the match " and that they will have to follow a special program to prepare them to the new season which starts next week

Pelligrini confirmed that they must win against the 2014 FA Cup Champions and that the match will be very important for the team to defend their title. "Arsenal game is not a friendly , it will be important against an important team" explained Manuel.

On the other side , Arsenal will miss three of their Germain player : Mesut Ozil , Per Mertesacker and Lukas Podolski
