Victor Valdés will not join Monaco

Could Valdés bounce back to Manchester City ?

On the point of signing with Monaco a few days ago, Victor Valdes, whom his contract expired with FC Barcelona, will not join AS Monaco. It is the club who himself announced at the official presentation of the new coach Leonardo Jardim.

Whereas the Mundo Deportivo announced that Victor Valdes would engage with the Monaco in the next few days, the club cut short to speculation. The ASM has announced this on Thursday, during the presentation of the new coach, the Portuguese Leonardo Jardim, that they will not officially sign the catalan goalkeeper, who was free to engage when ever he wanted since his departure from Barcelona.

"He is injured and will not join us" said the vice-president of Monaco, Vadym Vasilyev. Victim of a rupture of the cruciate ligaments on the right knee since last March, the international Spanish goalkeeper (20 selections) is currently without any club.

While FC Barcelona suggested him to stay a year longer before signing with Ter Stegen and Bravo, Valdes could bounce back to Manchester City and join several partners in the Spanish nation team as David Silva, Jesus Navas or yet Alvaro Negredo. The champion of England had already begun discussions to try to sign him.
