Xavi's journey in Barcelona is clearly over , the Catalan daily "Sport " revealed that the 34 years old International Spanish Midfield is preparing to leave his club to join the MLS where he is supposed to join the New York City FC. Xavi is expected to sign a three-year contract , where he should join David Villa.

Xavi had joined Barcelona in 1991 , when he was just 11 years old , and was promoted to the Barcelona B in 1997 , then to the 1st team in 1998 , where he spent his entire career with the club , played 723 games and scored 83 goals.

Xavi had already won the Spanish League with Barcelona 7 times (1998–99, 2004–05, 2005–06, 2008–09, 2009–10, 2010–11, 2012–13 ), 2 Copa Del Rey (Spanish Cup) (2008–09, 2011–12,) 6 Spanish Supercup (2005, 2006, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2013 ), 3 UEFA Champions League (2005–06, 2008–09, 2010–11) , 2 UEFa Super Cup (2009, 2011) and 2 FIFA Club World Cup (2009, 2011).

At the National level , The Spanish medfield had already won the World Cup in 2010 , the UEFA European Football Championship (2008, 2012), the FIFA World Youth Championship (1999) , as well as a Silver Medal at the 2000 summer Olympics
